Here's some further information on some of our interior plastering services that you may find useful:
Skimming Walls
Skimming Walls is where a thin coat of plaster is spread smoothly across your wall or ceiling to finish it ready for painting, wall papering or tiling.
You may need to re-skim a wall after crack repairs or skim new walls in an extension, loft conversion or property refurbishment. Skimming walls should be left to the professionals if you want a truly smooth finish as it can be a tricky process.
Dry Lining
Dry Lining is a cladding system for walls and ceilings using plasterboard and jointing tape.
Overboarding Ceilings
Overboarding ceilings that are cracked, covered in flakey paint or old wallpaper is a time saving way to create a new smooth ceiling that will also add an extra layer of sound and heat insulation to your room.
We use new plasterboard over the existing ceiling and then a skim finish. This will give you a lovely new ceiling ready for decorating.
Plastering Over Artex
Artex was favoured in the 1970's for textured ceilings. It often covered a multitude of cracks and other problems in older properties, but has since gone out of fashion. The solution is to plaster over the artex and achieve a smooth ceiling again.
Plastering over artex is a specialist job and you need to be aware of the risk of asbestos in some artex ceilings.
